Hello everyone! :D
This animation is created by my buddies and I (Ronald Fong, Lee Yong Yi and Tan Zi Chao) of Channelbox for the Eyeka Asia Coke Zero Video or Animation Competition.
In this production, I worked on mainly on the compositing and editing, look development, developing the ink stroke and fluid visual effects, the cars and buildings modelling and animation and the coke can rig.
I'm glad that Channelbox has matured a lot through this production, in terms of communication, coordination, quality and the possibility of effective online meetings. We are a team!

Hello! I worked on a F1GPSG Singapore Eyeka Video / Animation Competition recently :)
The objective was to promote www.f1gpsg.com as a hub for F1 fans. Instead of just showing my passion for the sport, I wanted an additional touch to have the viewer think about what this sport means to him or her. Here's the final product which I submitted on the 29th of March 2009:
Description: A play of words in the introduction to spark the viewer's thoughts. The viewers starts questioning what exactly F1 means to him or her. The tension builds up and awakens the viewer, who will start to find out more and share with the rest of the world about F1!
Hope you'll like this video! You may view it on Eyeka competition website itself here.
I cannot help but introduce this new product to you! :D
I bought a Wacom Intuos3 about 3 years ago and I thought very highly of this technology then. During these couple of years, I enjoyed my user experience with Wacom Intuos3 very much. I liked it's highly customizable driver and functions, it actually allows users to customize different ExpressKeys for different applications! I had a separate set of ExpressKeys for Photoshop and Maya. A downside will probably be the fact that I'm actually left-handed, hence it was slightly tricky to customize. I kept telling myself that it was such a good product, such that it will take some time for its successor to be released. Indeed, I felt that it took quite awhile, now it's here - Wacom Intuos4
Here's the official trailer:
The Intuos4 can now turn 180 degrees to suit the user regardless of left or right handed users. And then, I was thinking - "Wouldn't the cord get in the way?" I read on an article that the USB cord at Wacom's end is actually detachable!! The scroll strip is ingeniously tranformed into a scroll wheel which allows infinite zooming in and out as far as the application can take you in a single stroke! (Just like the Ipod) The wheel allows intuitivity when rotating the painting canvas, which is newly introducted in Photoshop CS4. There's also an OLED display beside the ExpressKeys to remind the user what are the shortcuts assigned to them.
I have only written down the functions that I'm excited about and I feel are noteworthy. Please read this [article] to find out more!
Channelbox is embarking on the Coke Zero Video Competition organised by Eyeka Asia.
As far as visual development is concerned, we are looking forward to some inking effects. I achieved the following in Maya and After Effects. This technique can be applied on to any 3D model, however it takes some time. I'm currently trying to simplify the process by turning this into a script.
Trying to avoid a total lift from our reference, I worked towards a more Chinese calligraphic style, hope it works for this production. ;)
Thanks to all who have helped to put up a successful graduation exhibition! Specially those who came down to visit my booth and everybody who made this possible, including visitors, my family and friends, lecturers!

It's interesting to do HDRI lighting especially when provided with high quality backplates. It will be interesting to have some animation rendered. But for now, hope you'll like it.
