Cube Explosion using Geometry-Driven Rig
TITLE: CUBE EXPLOSION USING GEOMETRY-DRIVEN RIG
DESCRIPTION: A SIMPLE MAYA MEL SCRIPT
An animation test using a simple script I developed called Geometry-Driven Rig (GDR).
Basically, this script allows the user to drive similar animations using a hidden geometry instead of using Maya Dynamics. This hidden geometry can be deformed in anyway using Maya Deformers (even blendShapes). This script may be helpful for creating explosions, quakes and cracks.
"Well, I just had to add a Maya Dynamic force field and let the computer do this calculation!" Yes, this simple animation can also be achieved using Maya Dynamics as well but it is harder to control and more calculation when on a bigger scale.
Note: In this example, the cube was shattered using a shatter script developed by davegreenwood called dg_Voro_Py

FZD School Of Design Graduation Show

Open House and Graduation Show
8 June 2012 . 83 Amoy Street
I think it was a organized and cozy facility along Amoy Street.
The graduation show was well-presented exhibition.
I've visited their previous facility before and I noticed there's a move from a classroom-like to a more studio-like environment.
Congratulations to all graduates from the show. I personally like works from Ma Qi Yin, Liang Chen and Andrea Susini.
I think the three of them demonstrated more-or-less equal high-level abilities in terms of technical execution of their designs.
However, of them all, I think Ma Qi Yin is the one who best demonstrates his ability to create different a variety of different genres and visual styles.
I guess this makes him a more versatile concept designer.
And I really like the character designs from Cheryl Ong Liwen.
My friends working really hard at FZD now, Yong Yi, Hong Yi, Kian Beng, Rui Ong, keep going!
Can't wait to see your works at your graduation show!

Won NTUSU-BP Mentoring Logo Competition
I have just won the NTUSU-BP Mentoring Logo Design Competition in March 2012.
The logo will be used as the identity of the NTUSU-BP Mentoring Club.
At the prize presentation ceremony, the NTUSU-BP Mentoring Club committee was very welcoming and I was invited to join them in an enriching "Stress Management and Exam Wishes" event.
The design has been implemented on their official website, facebook group and will be implemented more publicity and publication materials to come.
Thank you Cynthia WIRANEGARA, Chairperson of NTUSU-BP Mentoring Club, the entire Club and the Communications and External Affairs Officer from BP Singapore for this wonderful opportunity.

- Passion towards voluntary welfare causes
- Care towards the society
Requirement:
1. The logo must include our name "NTUSU-BP Mentoring"
2. The logo should not include the NTU logo.
3. The logo should not contain copyright infringing content
4. No colour restrictions
5. Logo designs must be based on the theme
Judging Criteria:
The entries will be filtered by shortlisting committee, which consists of committee members from NTUSU-BP Mentoring and NTUSU. Shortlisted entries will be presented to the Communications and External Affairs Officer from BP Singapore. ONE(1) winner will be chosen.
