THEME: FRIENDSHIP . ROMANCE . VIBRANT . NATURE

CONCEPT: We sought to achieve a minimalistic and pure geometrical outlook, adhering to the abstract concept of snow and peace. This presents a pleasant outlook to its viewers and exudes a general sense of merrymaking. The top will be garnished with a splash of color to add a level of depth to the food, a sneak peek of its contents within.The insides of the food hold different colours, textures, ingredients and feel from one another. Its colorful interior is a representation of contained wonders that are meant to be expressed, a tribute to the old saying "it's the inside that counts". It is essentially a dessert dish and ultimately strives for the happiness of its consumers (the theme complies to this).

INGREDIENTS: Include various cereals, fruits and vegetables, jam, jelly, chocolate, macaroon, coconut powder and ice-cream.

APPRECIATION TO URA | Thank you URA for bring this international exhibition to us. I have learned a lot from creating drawings and architectural studies of the exhibits. The exhibition allowed my class to have an enriching lesson outside of the classroom. I sincerely hope that there will be more of such exhibitions and look forward to be inspired once again.

OBJECTIVES: To understand dominant, sub-dominant and subordinate volumes.

BRIEF: Cut 3 blue foam blocks of different dimensions. Arrange and place them together in perpendicular axis using cradling, piercing or wedging techniques. Pay attention to the criteria of exploring into all 3 axes. The final sculpture has to look interesting from all vantage points.

TIME TAKEN: 3 hours

LESSONS LEARNED: It is important to play and explore in 3D design. A successful final design of the form looks interesting from all angles.

Dr. Sketchy Singapore June 2011 - Part 1

Recently attended Dr. Sketchy Singapore - basically a life drawing session.

A life drawing class turned cabaret extravaganza. Artists draw glamorous underground performers, compete in contests, and win booze and prizes. From its humble Brooklyn beginnings, it's spread to 100 cities on five continents- including London, Rome, Tokyo, Paris, Sao Paulo and Melbourne.

The sketching session comprised of 1, 2, 5, 15 and 20-minute poses and a few mini-competitions in between. I participated in the mini-competition where we had to challenge our non-master hand!

This intriguing conversation dialog sparked interesting acting choices.
White is furious Purple stole his friends denches!
White confronts Purple but Purple argues back nonsensically in defence.
I had a lot of fun animating this piece. Hope you like it.
